If you like a bit of an adrenaline rush on your holiday then there’s plenty of activities nearby to choose from. Here are just a few ideas and you can also check out Visit Mid-Wales for more.

Cycling in Coed Y Brenin

Mountain & off road cycling

For fun on two wheels, there’s plenty of off-road cycling choices for all levels and ages.
The Dyfi Forrest is home to the Climachx Mountain Bike Trail and Dyfi Bike Park. The latter is a 650 acre bike park who’s trails have been hand crafted by world champion Dan Atherton.
The Mach Trails are three great off-road cycling routes ranging from 10 to 20 miles. They start in Machynlleth and can be enjoyed on gravel or mountain bikes.
Coed Y Brenin is the UK’s largest mountain bike trail centre with has miles of exceptional singletrack for experienced riders and also great family and intermediate trails for all abilities. You can hire bikes from Beics Brenin.
The Mawddach Trail Trail winds for 9.5 miles along a disused railway track on the southern edge of the Mawddach estuary. The trail starts Dolgellau and finishes by crossing the iconic Barmouth railway bridge.

Fun on the water

Being by the estuary you’d expect to find lots of messing about on the water.

Stand Up Paddleboarding, or SUP for those that know, is a great way to get a different perspective of Aberdyfi and the Dyfi Estuary.

Letssup, run by the fabulous Debbie & Darren have SUP sessions from Aberdovey. They have all the equipment and the know how, and have sesssions to suit all levels.

Adrenaline rush!

Flying through the sky, hurtling through the forest, bouncing underground – Zip World has it covered on the adrenaline front. Zip World has three locations in North Wales for its adventure activities,

Choose from the forest where you can take a roller coaster through the trees or swing amongst the branches. At the slate caverns, you’ll find activities such as bouncing on giant trampolines through caves or going down Europe’s largest zip zone. Or lastly, you could soar over the quarries on the fastest zip line in the world or zoom through them on a go-cart.

Zip World is over an hours drive from Nyth Robin, but there’s plenty to do to make a day of it.
