COVID-19 - FAQs
We’ve put together these handy answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Nyth Robin and the current coronavirus pandemic.
Q: When will you open?
At the moment we don’t know. The UK Government has indicated in its road map that campsites and holiday accommodation may be able to open from 4th July. However, the Welsh Government has a separate roadmap, which uses a traffic light system for changes. This outlines that holiday accommodation may be able to open in the Amber phase, but they have not indicated any timelines for the traffic light phases. You can find out more about the Welsh Government roadmap here.
We will only open when the Welsh Government say we can (this may be different to England & Scotland), when it’s safe for guests, when it’s safe for us and when it’s safe for our community to allow visitors once again.
Wales is currently still in lockdown and hope for further information soon – the next Welsh Government review is due around 19th June.
Q: Are you taking bookings for this year?
Until we have a definite opening date, and therefore are confident we will be able to fulfil any booking, our 2020 calendar is closed to new bookings. We also want to be able to be able to accommodate existing and rearrange bookings first before taking any new bookings.
If you are interested in staying with us this year, that’s great! Please do drop us an email with your requirements and we’ll let you know when we will be opening our bookings again.
Q: What if I have a booking for this year?
If you had/ have a booking with us for March to June hopefully you will have received an email from us regarding your options. Please get in touch if you haven’t.
If you have a booking from July onwards we are still hoping to be able to go ahead with your booking, so we are asking customers to please bear with us and we will be in touch as soon as we have any updates.
We will not be asking for any balance payments for any upcoming glamping stays until we are certain we can fulfil your stay.
If you know you are unable to make your booking this year please let us know – we are happy to re-arrange for next year.
Q: Are you offering refunds on affected bookings?
We are asking customers with a deposit for an affected booking to either re-book for a suitable time, or take a credit note for any booking up to the end of November 2021.
We are only a small business, so being able to accommodate bookings with a deposit is best for the future of our little site. And we do hope that you will be able to enjoy your holiday at Nyth Robin sometime soon!
However, we do understand that these options available may not be suitable for every situation, so please do get in touch to discuss.
Q: What measures are you putting in place to be able to open?
There are lots of things we think we will need to do and may need to change prior to opening. We hope there will be some official guidance to give us a steer in the right direction.
In the meantime, we don’t feel it’s particularly useful to speculate on what we may or may not do when we open, but rest assured that scrupulous cleanliness and enabling guests to be able to maintain safe distances will be a must.
Q: What have you been doing during lockdown?
Although we don’t have guests at Nyth Robin, the work doesn’t stop! We’re lucky to have lots of space here, but it all still needs maintaining – so lots of gardening, mowing, fence painting and some improvements. There’s also been a lot of tea drinking and Rustin the dog has been enjoying his mini agility course we set up!
In addition we’re now looking at what we may need to change to re-open and know we will be very busy bees once we know when we can open.
Q: How can I keep up to date with any changes?
Q: Are you taking bookings for 2021?
We normally open up bookings for the following year in November and at the moment this is still the case.
