Here's a some of our frequently asked questions, and the answers!
What accommodation do you offer?
We have a variety of glamping options and pitches suitable for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents.
Do you accept tents?
No. Due to the nature of the ground, our pitches are not suitable for tents.
What facilities do you have?
We have clean and well kept unisex shower and toilet facilities, as well as a family bathroom. This is also suitable for those that need a bit more space.
There are also washing up sinks and drinking water taps.
Do you accept dogs?
Yes. Up to 3 dogs are welcome on our touring pitches, up to 2 dogs in our bell tents and yurt and 1 dog in Betty the horsebox. All dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on site. Dogs are not allowed in the Gwdihw Hut or Vintage Caravan.
Can I bring my dragon?
Unfortunately due to health and safety regulations, pet dragons are not allowed on site.
I see you have lakes/ ponds, is it possible to fish in them?
Yes. Catch and release fishing is allowed, and we have a few fishing pegs. Please note that the fish stock in the ponds is not actively managed.
Can I charge an electric car on-site?
This is not a service we offer at the moment but are looking into the feasibility. There is some close by though! The nearest points we know of are at Centre for Alternative Technology, Tal-Y-Llyn Railway and Cletwr cafe & shop on the way to Aberystwyth.
How far away are the nearest pubs, shops, cafes etc?
Aberdovey/ Aberdyfi is our nearest village, where you’ll find pubs, restaurants, cafes, village shops, butchers and a Post Office. You can find out more here.
Can I walk into Aberdovey/ Aberdyfi?
You can. It is an off-road walk of 6 miles that takes approximately 2 1/2 hours. Whilst it’s not a gentle stroll it’s a rewarding walk with great views over Cardigan Bay.
What’s there to do nearby?
Lots! Check out our explore pages for more options.
Is there public transport or taxis available?
There is a regular local bus service that goes to Machynlleth, Aberdyfi and Tywyn and stops at the end of our road. There are also taxis available from these areas and must be pre-booked. Find out more on our local info page.
Can I have visitors whilst staying at Nyth Robin?
For the safety of all our guests, we do currently not allow day visitors, so please arrange to meet in an alternative location. We will ask any visitors to leave.
Nyth Robin sounds perfect – how can I book?
What time is check-in/ out?
We will let you know check-in times with your pre-arrival information, however, this is usually 4 – 9 pm. Check out is by 10 am.
Can I check-in early/ check-out late?
During our busy times (weekends/ school holidays) this is not possible. We may be able to accommodate in quieter times.
Does your glamping have private facilities?
No, however, the well-kept site showers and toilets are not far from any of our units. The Gwdihw Hut does have it’s own compost toilet.
What do you provide and what do I need to bring?
We will provide you with a comprehensive list of what we include and suggestions for what you should bring with your pre-arrival information.
What cooking/ kitchen facilities are there?
Each glamping unit has its own kitchen with a 2 ring gas stove & gas. The kitchens are well equipped to make basic meals, including pots, pans, kettle and cooking utensils. All accommodation has a cool box and we provide ice blocks for these. The vintage caravan has a fridge. There is also a communal freezer.
Do you provide firepits and wood?
Absolutely -we love nothing better than a campfire – so don’t forget the marshmallows! We provide a box of wood to get you going and any more can be bought from reception. Due to its woodland location, the Gwdihw Hut has a chimenea rather than a firepit.
Can I come glamping with friends/ family?
We are a quiet site so not suitable for large groups. However small groups of no more than 6 adults who are looking for a relaxing holiday are welcome. Our bell tent terrace with Bluebell and Foxglove can accommodate up to 12 people (max 6 adults). Or our bell tent Poppy is neighbours our horsebox Betty, so great for a couple of families.
What time is check-in/ out?
We will confirm check-in times with your pre-arrival information, however, this is usually 1 – 9 pm and check-out is 12-noon. Please do not to arrive outside of these times as you may not be able to get onto your pitch and we do not have any additional parking spaces or a waiting area.
Do you allow BBQs & campfires?
Yes. We also hire firepits and sell seasoned wood in the site shop. Please do not take any wood from our woodlands as this provided important habitat for wildlife and is not suitable for burning.
How big are your pitches?
Our pitches are not a uniform size (which is what many people love!) but both the upper & lower terrace pitches can fit caravans or motorhomes up to 8 m. You’ll find a motor mover really handy for larger units.
Is there a size limit for caravans or motorhomes?
If you are over 8 metres we do ask you to get in touch before booking so we can make sure we have a pitch available that is suitable for larger units.
I have a small campervan/ motorhome, can I only book the Small Van Pitch?
No! Campervans/ small motorhomes are welcome on any of our pitches. Due to its size and access, the small van pitch is for smaller units only, and not suitable for caravans.
Can I bring an awning?
Yes and there’s no extra charge. We recommend bringing sturdy pegs such as rock or nail pegs for pegging into the ground.
Can I bring an extra car?
We allow for 1 car per pitch, including those with motorhomes. You must let us know if you want to bring an extra vehicle as we have limited space and there is an additional charge for this.
Do your pitches have electric/ EHU and what is the amperage?
All our touring pitches have EHU and are 16 amps
Do you have fully serviced pitches?
No, but water points and empty are not too far away.
Do you have grey water & chemical toilet/ ELSAN empty points?
Yes. If you are on the lower terrace access to disposal points are via some steps or up a slope. Please note we do not have a drive over grey water empty point for motorhomes.
Is there a good TV reception?
Yes. The nearest mast is in Aberystwyth, so any ariels need to be pointed that way!
Can I come with a group of friends or family?
We welcome multi-household groups but ask that groups bookings are no more than 6 adults. As a quiet site, this ensures all our guests enjoy a relaxing holiday.
I’ve been before – can I request a specific pitch?
We can not guarantee specific pitches as this can leave us with ‘gaps’ in the calendar, but we will always do our best to accommodate returning guests.
