Dog Friendly Holidays

Days out for you and your dog

If you fancy a day out with your pooch then here are just a few ideas of activities that you can both enjoy. You can also check out Visit Mid-Wales for more dog-friendly activities.

Rustin on the beach with his dog pals

Aberdyfi Beach

If you’re coming on holiday with your four legged friend then there are plenty of walks in the area for you and your dog – check out our Walking Holidays page for more details.

We also asked our hound Rustin for his top walkies tip and he says you can’t go wrong with a trip to Aberdyfi beach. With dunes to explore and miles of sandy beach to run on all year round it’s a real dog winner!

Enjoying the view from your carriage

Tal Y Llyn Railway

Our favourite local steam railway is also a favourite with dogs. After all, what’s not to love about a gentle train ride through the glorious mid-Wales countryside with the promise of an exciting walk at Dolgoch falls at the end.

You can board the train at Tywyn or Abergynolwyn – find out more.

Enjoying a sniff around Harlech Castle

Cambrian Coast Railway

Dogs are allowed on the local train service. You can join at Machynlleth or Aberdyfi and head to Barmouth, Harlech or Pwllheli.

You’ll enjoy one of Britain’s most scenic railway journeys, whilst your furry friend looks forward to the adventures at the end of the line. Find out more about the Cambrian Line.

Old mine at the Silver Mountain Experience

Silver Mountain Experience

History, myth, and legend collide at the Silver Mountain Experience and it’s a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Dogs, with their well-behaved owners, are welcome at the surface attractions only. They must be kept on the lead and under control at all times.

The Silver Mountain Experience is near Aberystwyth – find out more.
