Traditional Welsh Food: What To Try Near Aberdyfi
If you enjoy trying local food when you travel, traditional Welsh food is worth making time for. From simple cawl to rich bara brith, there is plenty to taste around Aberdyfi and across Wales, and a few recipes you can try at home after your stay at Nyth Robin.
What do we mean by traditional Welsh food?
Traditional Welsh food is usually simple, hearty and based on local ingredients, things like lamb, leeks, oats, cheese and seafood. Many dishes started as everyday meals for farming and mining families, which is why they tend to be filling, comforting and not too fancy.
You will still find these dishes on pub menus and in cafes in Aberdyfi and the wider Cadigan Bay coast.
