Happy Valley / Cwm Maethlon Walk

Nyth Robin to Cwm Maethlon/ Happy Valley

The Welsh Coast Path is accessible from Nyth Robin, from here you can walk to Aberdyfi, Pennal or this lovely round trip to Cwm Maethlon/ Happy Valley.

This walks is about 10 km/ 6 miles and takes 2 1/2 – 3 hours. It’s a round trip starting at Nyth Robin and does have some good uphill sections! We liked this walk as it has varied scenery and terrain, and great views over the Dyfi Valley.

Once you’re on the Welsh Coast Path it’s a walk downhill towards Pennal, and before you meet the road there’s a signposted track off left towards Cwm Maetholn. You’ll meet plenty of sheep on the way, so do remember to keep you dog on a lead.

It’s then back up the hill and accoss fields and woodland towards Cwm Maethlon / Happy Valley. Before you reach the main road cross the field and pick up the footpath heading back towards the Coast Path.

You’ll then be back up at the farm you will have passed on your way down on the Coast Path.

The way is well signposted, so do look out for the signs. We also highly recommend downloading the OS Map app – we did check a couple of times to make sure we’d not drifted off course! And as always do ask us for directions for this when on site.

If you fancy a few nights stay over to make the most of the amazing walks nearby, check out our glamping accomodation or touring pitches.
